Putting an end to Palin’s “task that is from God” comments

This is rediculous that it continues to come up that Sarah Palin is some sort of religious freak.  Believing in Christianity does not make you strange, insane (thanks Bill Maher), stupid, or irrational.  And no, Sarah Palin is not some sort of religious zealot looking to use the US military to fight holy wars.  The notion is lame.

However, Charlie Gibson tried to really press Sarah Palin on this issue:

GIBSON: You said recently, in your old church, “Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God.” Are we fighting a holy war?

PALIN: You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.

GIBSON: Exact words (http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=5782924)

But, had Gibson does his homework, he would have been able to see Mrs. Palin’s exact (and innocent) words (as mentioned by NPR):

Pray our military men and women who are striving to do what is right also for this country — that our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God’s plan.”http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=94332540

This is silly that we have to do this to a professional journalist trying to drum up a story that is so blatantly false.
